National Apple Pie Day
Yes, the king of all pies deserves a day all to itself, how dare people just try to lump it in with all those other commoner pies.
But I have a story for you. Okay, so this one wonderful fall afternoon last year, my roommate’s boyfriend was coming to visit. So she decided it would be nice to make him an apple pie, especially because we had millions of apples left over from apple picking and he drives 2 hours each way to come visit her for like four hours (yes, it makes no sense). So she woke up early, which she never does being allergic to the more (if you know what I mean), to make him this pie. Well, let just say it took a little longer to make then she expected, so she was trying to get ready for class. I had just gotten back from class. I told her I would help by cleaning up the dishes, and she asked me if I could take the pie out of the oven when it beeped while she grabbed her school bag…..
Can you guess what happened? Oven beeped, I tried to take the absolutely beautiful and perfect pie out of the oven and…. I drop it, yeah it did like a 180 flip and landed upside down all over the oven door. At which point she walked out of her room, on the way to class, paused, looked at me, and laughed. I felt sooo bad, but she thought it was funny. Anyway, I clean up the mess and after class we just made a new one. Good story, Huh!
