Love Me, My Dog
GORGEOUS. Wrong colors for my room, but absolutely stunning. Plus, it has that nice 1920s feel that is all the craze right now thanks to The Great Gatsby. If I had graphic design ability (and since I know people who do, I know that I don’t) I would totally just recreate this to reflect me and my babies. Maybe I’ll try… I need something awesome to be my new hobby.
Flat 2D Mac Icons
So my obsession with have Mac Icons different than the standard ones continues. For some reason, I’ve decided that everything I have, everything I do, needs to be a little bit off the norm. Instofacto, special icons for my new computer. These rock! I mean it, if I really wanted to be an individual, I could make my own… but I wouldn’t be very good at that!
Anyway, you can download these at mmminimal.com… just in case you want to be a little right of awesome too (because left of center is so… average?)
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE. Yes, exactly that many loves. I seriously thought this black and white branding concept couldn’t get any more spectacular until I saw the idea for a the print ad. While it might not be the most direct ad every created, seeing Gillette off to the side does encourage me to look for the product they’re trying to sell.
But that just might be me….

Federal 52 Playing Cards
This is literally the first Kickstarter project I actually would have backed if I would have found out about it sooner! Luckily they have a website where you can buy the some of their stuff... although I don’t see that cards, and that’s what I really want. BUT SERIOUSLY, check out this video of him inking the ace of hearts.
Bark Slope Salon
Adorable status. I am huge fan of how they turned that retro barber circular thingy into a bone. The whole branding campaign is beautifully integrated from ever piece right down to their website. Although, it is kind of a boring website… oh well, it’s still pretty awesome.
Unaged Jack Daniels Rye
Yeah, so I’m not really a fan of alcohol, but the packaging… that’s a different story. Just think about all the options in a liquor store. Since you can’t just taste everything, packaging can be pretty important.
What I love most about this packaging is the minimalism of label. It’s vintage and gorgeous. Simple and to the point. Plus, it allows the focus to be where it should be- the clarity of the alcohol.

And it’s gorgeous ! I definitely fits with whole chalkboard trend that seems to be sweeping that nation. Every detail from the shapes of the box to how they bring your attention to the center is well thought out. BUT (and there always is one… except when there’s not) it’s way too busy! Too many good ideas and quickly become a bad idea or at least a busy idea.
Do they really every except the hunger people who have been waiting a ridiculous amount of time for their pizza to actually spend time staring at the box?

Don’t feel bad, I didn’t know what it was either. I had honestly just believed is was the name of some alcohol producing company. Although, they could probably use alcohol in some form or another to treat malaria….
Oh, I also thought that it had something to do with Harry Potter if is wasn’t an alcoholic beverage. I just figured it kind of seemed as if it could be the name of a potion or something. And for all those HP fans out there, I just truly should my ignorance….. and I don’t even care.

Pam’s Flour Packaging
It’s about time someone got creative with the branding and packaging design of the everyday staple that flour is! Seriously, I have never ever seen a bag of flour that looked remotely fun. All the flour seems so seriously, which I’m sure attributes to my poor self-esteem when I fail at baking something correctly.
And this bag is even so awesome, it even includes a conversion from kgs of flour to cups for all of us (aka me) too stupid, too cheap or too lazy to figure out the calculations ourself or buy a scale.

HOLY CRAPOLA, THESE ARE INCREDIBLE. Seriously, thought of changing my standard Mac Icons to something a little more special never ever, and probably would never ever, occur to me.

Seriously, I didn’t even know that you could change the pictures on the icons. Mind, completely blown. And if your mind is blown on how this is even possible, apparently it’s this loverly little app called CandyBar (click here for the free download). Who knew?! Not me!!

I’ve haven’t seen packaging I really like in months. But there’s nothing like packaging that has a picture of a cow to win me over.
They even put a cow next to the list of ingredients! And speaking of ingredients (great segway, I know) I think it’s great the way the bold the main ingredients. It helps people focus on choosing whole food, not that chemical modified crap that I love so very very much.

Alfred Hitchcock Cookbook
Not to spoil the surprise or anything - AKA IF YOU HAVE WATCHED THE VIDEO YET STOP READING - but I wish this was actually a recipe filled cookbook… or at least a tv show about the food of Alfred Hitchcock movies. Just think, how cool would a show title The Food of Suspense & Murder be?!
Anyway, I can’t be too disappointed. This video is B-E-A-UTIFUL. But now I’m just wondering if there is an Alfred Hitchcock themed restaurant… that would be awesome. And clearly, this obsession has reached an unhealthy level.

Do I really even need to comment on the validity of these posters? But I do really appreciate the vintage-y feel that’s they both have. Although I kind of wish the red and yellow one was in pastel colors.
I wonder if people would find this offensive if I hung it at my house…
Winkworth Farm Wedding Invitation
Of course, I’m obsessed with all the awesome letterpress going on here. But I do have a serious question…. IS IT A SQUIRREL OR A FOX? I mean it doesn’t really matter to me either way, but it is interesting! Most important, I love the functionality of this invitation. Seriously, there is a lot of value added in having directions on the back. And then you just RSVP online?!?! Brilliant and efficient!
